A MAN accused of dealing cannabis in Oxford has been given a date for his trial.

Dalveer Mattu appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday.

The 28-year-old of Cherwell Drive, Oxford, pleaded not guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

Prosecutors allege that Mattu had 126.3g of herbal cannabis as well as 11.7g of cannabis resin and that he intended on supplying those drugs.

The court heard that Mattu's defence was that he accepted possession of the drugs.

He denies, however, any intention on supplying them and said they were for 'personal use.'

Recorder David Brock, presiding, adjourned the case for trial.

That trial will take place at the same court within a two-week period beginning May 3 next year.

The case is expected to last up to two days and Mattu was released on bail in the meantime.
