AN ESCAPED prisoner is on the run.

Police have now told all residents to dial 999 immediately if they see Shane Hadderton (pictured).

The 32-year-old is wanted after he did not return to HMP Springhill on Tuesday morning.

Springhill prison, in Buckinghamshire, is a category D prison - which means some criminals can be released for the day as part of rehabilitation programmes.

Hadderton, who is serving a sentence for burglary and driving offences, is described as a white man, around 6ft 1ins tall with dark brown hair and green eyes.

He also has a tattoo on his right arm with the words ‘only God can judge me’ and scars on both his hands.

He is known to frequently go to Heybridge, Southminister, Colchester areas of Essex, Tunbridge Wells in Kent and Surrey.

Detective Constable Paice O’Brien, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “We are appealing for help in tracing Hadderton after he absconded yesterday morning.

 “We would ask anyone with information as to his whereabouts, or anyone who might have seen someone matching his description to come forward.

 “Anyone who sees him should not approach him but call Thames Valley Police on 999 quoting reference 43200425350, or if you have information as to his whereabouts please call 101 or make a report online.

“Alternatively, if you wish to report 100% anonymously you can do so by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
