FIVE people were trapped in their cars after this serious crash in an Oxfordshire village yesterday.

When fire crews from Chipping Norton and Banbury arrived at the scene of the incident, they found found two passengers in a Mazda both medically trapped, and three passengers in a Mini Cooper mechanically and medically trapped.

The incident happened at 1.22pm on Station Road, Kingham, where, as a result of the crash, the Mazda was in an unstable position hanging over a riverbank.

Emergency services had to work quickly to shore up the car with a winch before helping the casualties.

Crews made space around them, cutting back hedges and removing the car doors to make space for paramedics.

Oxford Mail:

All passengers were all cut out by firefighters and treated at the scene before being taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Their injuries included cuts, abrasions and a broken wrist, as well as other conditions, which are not thought to be life threatening.
