A BLOCK of flats in Cowley was left without running water for over 48 hours.

Trinity Court Flats have been having problems with their water supply for ‘over six months’.

A resident, who asked to remain anonymous, told the Oxford Mail that the water issues first started in the building ‘about six months ago’.

He said: “In the first instance it took 48 hours for it to be fixed.

“Every month for the last couple of months we have had out water go out, at least every two weeks, and since November it has happened once a week.

"The water went out for 24 hours last time, but 48 hours this time.

"We have no toilet water, no shower, no running water. We have been using the local toilets at Cowley Square, but they close at 4 pm.

"We have to get a bucket to wash. We get bottled water from Sainsbury's and boil it.

"There are over 100 people in this building trying to get through the Covid pandemic without running water."

Another anonymous resident told the Oxford Mail the issue had been going on since 'as far back as April'.

They added that they believe 'potential customers should be fully aware of all the drawbacks of this building.'

Lee Cain, regional manager for RMG, said: “There have been previous issues and we have worked with the maintenance contractor to rectify the issue.

“The most recent event is due to a particular part that is required for the pump and this is now on an urgent order.

“RMG have been in communication with a number of residents via phone and email and have also posted updates via our online portal.

“I would like to assure you that RMG are continually working on this matter and will continue to pursue this until the matter is resolved.”

A resident told the Oxford Mail the issue had now been resolved.
