AN alternative 'gym' has delivered hundreds of food parcels around the city during the pandemic.

GoodGym is a group of volunteers that do good deeds for the local community while getting fit.

Before the pandemic members would meet up for weekly runs and pit-stop at different locations that needed a job doing by a volunteer.

But since March, the group have teamed up with Oxford Hub and Oxford Mutual Aid to deliver prescriptions, groceries and food parcels to people most in need.

On Wednesday's the group have been tackling food poverty by delivering more than 30 parcels with nappies, baby food, toiletries and other essentials around the city on foot.

Organisers, who expect to be delivering lots more in the run up to Christmas, said: "Our volunteers get exercise and social interaction as well as doing good things for others – it's a win-win!"
