THAMES Valley Police have asked the public for help solving 10 crimes in Oxfordshire this week. 

From sex pests to thugs threatening elderly people with screwdrivers and stabbings  - here is a round-up of the investigations and details of how to get in touch with the force if you have vital information. 

  1. Didcot sex assaults on runners 

On Friday night a man was arrested after five sex attacks on women running in Didcot.

Five women, aged between 22 and 54, were touched inappropriately over their clothing on popular running routes on main roads by a man wearing a surgical face mask.

Police said they had arrested a man, in his 20s from Didcot, and he was is being questioned in police custody.

But investigators say they are still patrolling the streets and asking people to come forward with information.

2. Men threatened at knifepoint during terrifying break-in 

Between 7pm and 9pm on Wednesday a group of two to four thugs broke into a house on Denton Close, Botley, through the back door.

Oxford Mail:

Two men inside the house, one in his twenties and the other in his thirties, were threatened with a knife and struck with a crowbar multiple times over their body and legs.

The group of thugs stole cash and wallets before running away.

One of the men, who is slim and about 6ft tall, was wearing black clothes and jacket with a fur hood.

3. Thugs threaten elderly couple with screwdrivers 

The robbers broke into a house on Anna Pavlova Close, Abingdon, through the back door at about 6pm before unleashing the ‘frightening ordeal’.

They went through the drawers and cupboards and left with an iPad and set of door keys, leaving the couple, who are in their 70s, uninjured.

The first man is white, around 5ft 10ins, tall, stocky, with short dark hair. He was wearing dark jeans, a dark top and a dark face covering.

The second man is white, in his twenties and slim.

4. Appeal for witnesses after crash on M40 

Oxford Mail:

A serious crash on the motorway left investigators asking drivers to come forward with any dash-cam footage. 

At around 10.30am on Monday, three vans, a car and a lorry crashed at Junction 9, Bicester.

Two poeple, a man in his 30s and a woman in her 40s, had to be cut from the car by firefighters.

5. Police hunt for bike thief 

An expensive bike was stolen from outside Alice House in St Clements in broad daylight. 

Between 1pm and 3pm on October 1, a Giant Escape 3 bike was taken.

6. Motorcyclist killed in 'tragic' multi-car crash 

A biker died after a crash on Eynsham Road, Botley, near the junction with Pinnocks Way last Saturday. 

Oxford Mail:

In an appeal on Wednesday, police said that three vehicles had been involved in the crash - a Yamaha YBR 125 motorcycle, a silver Chevrolet Matiz and a blue BMW 525.

The motorcyclist, a 30-year-old man, was traveling westbound when it collided with the two other vehciles. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

7. Men in face masks steal perfume by smashing into shop 

At around 5.50am on Saturday (7/11) the front door of a business on Thame High Street was smashed by thieves who were carrying black bin bags. 

Oxford Mail:

They broke into the shop and stole a number of perfume and aftershave items before running away down an alleyway next to the Co-op store that leads to the car park. 

The three men were wearing black hooded tops and face masks. 

In an appeal on Wednesday police said a black 4X4 could have been used to pull of the crime.

8. Hunt for man who threw fireworks on Halloween 

Police are looking for a man who threw fireworks at Tesco staff on Halloween.

Between 10.10pm and 10.15pm on October 31 the man launched the explosives outside the Tesco Express in Holm Square, Bicester.

9. Teen questioned after attempted murder

Earlier this week a teenager was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in The chest and leg during a fight on Lambourn Road, Rose Hill, on Monday night.

10. Teenagers arrested after violent stabbing in Oxford 

A 16-year-old boy was stabbed and had his mobile phone stolen from him in a robbery in New Barton on Sunday evening. 

Thames Valley Police had a Section 60 order authorised for the area to the north of the Northern Bypass and Northway, Headington as a result. 

Two teenagers, a 18-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl, were arrested.
