A MAN caught with £1,880 worth of fake bank notes, which he claimed were 'props' in a music video, has been jailed.

James Howkins told police, a jury heard, that he could get 'a million views' and become famous.

Despite denying one count of having custody or control of a counterfeit currency note a jury at Oxford Crown Court found him guilty yesterday.

During the case it was said that the 36-year-old of Great Clarendon Street, Oxford was caught with the fake money at a house in Jericho.

The counterfeit cash, totalling some £1,880 was seized by police on May 16 this year and was discovered underneath a bedroom mattress in £20 denominations.

After he was convicted he was sentenced and jailed for a total of four months and five weeks.

That sentence included two other, separate offences - possession of crack cocaine and heroin.

He will also pay a victim surcharge.
