A drive-through coronavirus testing facility near Builth Wells is to close for refurbishment.

Tests will be carried out at the Watton car park in Brecon from Monday, October 26. The unit will be open daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

Powys Teaching Health Board said the Royal Welsh Showground site in Llanelwedd is due to reopen in November following the refurbishment.

The testing facility near The Hafren theatre in Newtown will remain open.

What are the symptoms?

Remember, the most important symptoms of coronavirus are recent onset of one or more of the following:

• new continuous cough

• high temperature

• loss of or change to your normal sense of smell or taste (anosmia)

For most people, coronavirus will be a mild illness. However, if you have any of the symptoms above you must self-isolate at home for at least 10 days from when your symptoms started and arrange to have a test to see if you have COVID-19. Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

How do I get tested?

Testing is by appointment only.

People living on the borders of Powys may also prefer to access drive-through testing facilities in neighbouring counties in Wales and England.

Appointments in Newtown, Brecon and neighbouring drive-through facilities can be booked online at www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by phone on 119
