OXFORD Ice Rink is set to reopen within the next nine days – but the city council still cannot give an exact date.

The council and its leisure partner, Fusion Lifestyle, are hoping to welcome people back to the Oxpens facility by the end of October, following planned maintenance work.

The latest coronavirus measures prevented groups of more than six taking part in sport indoors, but a council spokesperson insisted the target was still the end of this month.

She said: "We still aim to reopen the ice rink this month, and will make a more detailed announcement as soon as we are able to."
