OXFORD Crown Court saw a number of men jailed for driving offences this week, with one locked up for a tragic case of causing death by dangerous driving.
Below is a selection of some of those sentencing hearings that were heard this week.
Tuesday
Dangerous driver Andrew Cribbes left a man without colour vision in his right eye and pleaded with a judge not to jail him – because of his new girlfriend.
Andrew Cribbes appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday.
The 45-year-old had already admitting theft, dangerous driving and driving without insurance or a licence in a crime spree on March 1 this year, but on Tuesday he was asked to enter another plea for a more serious charge: causing injury by dangerous driving.
Wednesday
Another dangerous driver twice rammed into police cars that were pursuing him during a dramatic car chase from Oxford to Didcot.
After Ashley Maparura abandoned his car and ran off he stormed into a stranger's home and snatched a man's clothing.
While there, the 30-year-old of Nether Jackson Court, Northampton, was punched in the face by the startled occupant before he was finally arrested.
Friday
A jury found Tahid Abdul guilty of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving after a horror crash on the A41 near Bicester last year.
That crash led to the deaths of elderly couple Kenneth Jarvis and Gillian Jarvis, from Bicester.
He was jailed by a court judge for four years.
