Oxford’s Christmas market in Broad Street attracts thousands of visitors every year but will not be able to take place due to the coronavirus and organisers are planning for 2021.
It was due to take place from December 3 to December 20 but instead traders are likely to opt for an online festive market instead.
This could work well for traders who sell crafts but not so well for traders who sell festive hot food and drinks including hotdogs and mulled wine.

Organiser Nicole Rahimi said on the market's Facebook page: "I am beyond sad to let you know that I have to cancel the Oxford Christmas Market 2020.
"I believed I could provide a Covid-19 secure market and some form of normality in the lead up to Christmas, but the current Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions just make it impossible to organise a viable market.
"Here is hoping we will be able to spend Christmas with family and friends. Please stay safe."

Linda Jones replied: "Oh what a shame. But, it’s the right decision. Fingers crossed for next year."
Joy Hetherington added: "Oh Nicole, I'm sure you must be devastated. We'll all miss the vibrancy of the Christmas Market. Look forward to seeing you again next year."
Paul Dance said: "I think we should forget about Christmas this year as Covid has ruined this year."
