A FOOD larder which has been supported recently by David Cameron has moved home.
The Chippy Larder has set up in Chipping Norton Guildhall after West Oxfordshire District Council granted it a temporary licence.
The larder works with Didcot-based SOFEA to prevent food from going to waste.
The food is re-sold, typically at 35p an item, to prevent waste as well as helping those in need.

Chippy Larder founder Rizvana Poole said: “The guildhall is a fantastic location for the larder, better than I could have ever hoped for.
“People come in and feel it belongs to the community, people are making friends here and they sometimes just come in for a chat which is great.”
The larder was originally set up in Chipping Norton Leisure Centre in March and distributed free food during lockdown, with 644 households benefitting.
Former Prime Minister and Witney MP David Cameron was a volunteer for the larder earlier in the pandemic.
He told this paper at the time: “What’s amazing is that more volunteers are joining in – the Big Society is alive and well in West Oxfordshire.”
