A WALCOT man has denied threatening to stab a man unless he handed over £1,000.
Appearing before Swindon Crown Court on Monday morning via video link from Gablecross police station, Wezley McGregor, 33, of Drakes Way, pleaded not guilty to a single charge of blackmail.
Prosecutor Christopher Wing said McGregor was alleged to have confronted a man who had arranged to meet his girlfriend at a petrol station on June 10 this year. He ordered the man to transfer £1,000 into his girlfriend’s bank account or else he would stab him, it is claimed.
McGregor was remanded in custody by Judge Jason Taylor QC for the trial on November 25. The case is expected to last two to three days.
The defendant was represented in court by advocate Zara Walker.
