A SCHOOL in Witney has confirmed a potential case of Covid-19 returned as negative.

Rumours circulated after some students at Wood Green School were asked to self-isolate. Those pupils were able to return today.

In an email to parents, headteacher Rob Shadbolt said: “We will continue to follow PHE advice in any suspected case and prioritise the safety of students and staff.

“We are delighted that this was not a positive case and that students will not miss so much of their education.

“It is a useful reminder though that this could happen again at any time and we all need to be ready to manage this disruption.

“It also shows the importance of following all rules both in and out of school which are designed to keep people safe and to minimise disruption to education.”
