MUSIC lovers are to be treated to one of the first indoor concerts since lockdown.

The performance by the Orchestra of St John’s at Dorchester Abbey marks a welcome return to live music – but will be very different to anything previously seen.

To keep audiences safe the musicians will play from the pews, with their backs to the audience and will remain two metres apart.

The audience will be spaced out in the abbey's large entrance hall.

The orchestra will perform a diverse programme with pieces by Dvorak, Bloch and a choral work by Coleridge-Taylor.

The socially distanced concert takes place on September 26.
