House prices in Oxford dropped more than average for the South East in May, new figures show.

The average Oxford house price in May was £391,773, Land Registry figures show​ – a 1.6 per cent decrease on April.

Owners of detached houses fared worst in Oxford in May.

Detached houses dropped 2.0 per cent in price, to £780,831 on average​. Over the last year, prices dropped by 1.4 per cent.

​The best annual growth in the region was in West Oxfordshire where properties increased on average by 9.4 per cent, to £347,000.
