With the weather starting to turn and the summer seemingly behind us, it’s high time we enjoyed a roast dinner again.

The temperature is still a little bit too warm to be cooped up in the kitchen just yet, so grab your bubble and try one of these divine roasties.

Magdalen Arms, Iffley Road, OX4

This cosy pub on Iffley Road is home to one of the best-rated roasts on Google and we can see why.

Sunday lunch at the Magdalen Arms is served from midday until 3pm and the menu can vary depending on seasonal offerings.

The Angel and Greyhound, St Clement's Street, OX4

If you’re looking for an extra special treat then The Angel and Greyhound is the place to go for a home-cooked Sunday roast.

Subject to seasonal changes, the menu at this St Clement's Street pub includes lemon and thyme roast chicken supreme, pressed belly pork with crackling, roast sirloin of beef or vegetarian wellington.

The meat roasts start at £13.95 and include goose-fat potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, parsnips and carrots, red cabbage, butternut squash puree and homemade gravy.

The Chester Arms, Chester Street, OX4

The Sunday roast at The Chester Arms on Chester Street - just off Iffley Road - has been described by customers on TripAdvisor as “to die for”.

The roasts may vary but as standard these are the following options; slow-roasted pork belly, Oxfordshire leg of lamb or vegetarian nut roast.

With extremely generous portion sizes the meat roast starts at £14.
