THE widow of PC Andrew Harper will meet the Home Secretary today about her campaign for a new law meaning those who kill emergency workers are jailed for life.
Lissie Harper is set to meet Priti Patel and Justice Secretary Robert Buckland in Westminster in a bid to harness political support for Harper's Law.
Almost 650,000 people have signed a petition calling for the "vital and urgent" law change, with the Home Office contacting Mrs Harper, 29, last week to arrange a meeting.

The PC's widow wants life sentences to be applied in cases where someone is convicted of killing an emergency worker, regardless of whether they intended to cause a death.
Her 28-year-old husband, a Thames Valley Police officer who grew up in Wallingford, died when he and a colleague responded to a burglary in Berkshire in August 2019.
PC Harper's killers – 18-year-olds Albert Bowers and Jessie Cole and Henry Long, 19 – have lodged appeals against their sentences after they were convicted of manslaughter.
Bowers and Cole received 13-year sentences, while Long was handed 16 years.
