THOUGHTFUL care home staff inflated hundreds of balloons to pay tribute to people in Oxfordshire who lost their lives during the Covid-19 crisis.
Jayne Muir – manager at Wyndham Hall Care Home in Bicester – said she was moved when she saw a balloon release recently held on Copacabaña Beach, Brazil.
She felt inspired and wanted to recreate the gesture.

The manager and her colleagues inflated 550 red balloons and secured them outside the home to honour the lives of people in the county.
Bicester residents who passed by the home on Skimmingdish Lane were greeted with a long line of bright red balloons.
Explaining why she felt so moved to organise the event Ms Muir commented: “It has been tough five months.
“However, one of the positive aspects to come out of this pandemic has been how people have come together in whatever way they can to help each other.
“As a care home we have received so much support.
“We all wanted to find a way to demonstrate our support for the people who have tragically lost loved ones to this terrible virus.
“We wanted to show them that they are in our thoughts and have not been forgotten.”
Wyndham Hall is part of the Maria Mallaband Care Group and holds a review score of 9.8 out of 10 on carehome.co.uk
