Since the outbreak of coronavirus communities have come together and Thame Town Council wants to celebrate this and ‘show the lockdown love’.

Working with Thame Rewards Club - Shop OX9 the council has launched a collection of awards to recognise and celebrate some of the charitable work that has been done.

Thame Town Council believes neighbours are connecting and looking out for each other more than usual.

The council recognises that informal support groups have organised to support people in need; charities, volunteer groups, businesses, churches and many others have all rallied together to support the town and its residents.

Nominations for the awards can be made in several categories.

One category is ‘Community Champions’, an individual or group who you feel has gone above and beyond to support you or other members of the community during lockdown.

The second is ‘Local Business’, to award a local business that has helped support you, or those you know, during lockdown.

The third category is ‘Charity’. Thame Rewards Club donates 20 per cent from funds raised from the sale of membership cards each year and this year the winner of the ‘Charity’ category could win £500.

To make a nomination Thame council encourage people to ‘share the love’ and ‘let your nominees to know loud and clear how much they are appreciated’ with a story at www.thamerewardsclub.com/thame-lockdown-love-awards.
