A SPATE of attempted break-ins by a trio of thieves in Temple Cowley has led police to urge residents to be 'extra vigilant'.

At 2.20am on Saturday in Fern Hill Road three people walked up to a front door and tried to open it.

The door was locked and they did not get inside.

It is believed the group then went to a neighbouring home and tried there but were again unsuccessful.

On the same night at approximately 2.30am in Oliver Road three people also tried and failed to get into shed.

Sergeant Neil Bouse from the Cowley neighbourhood police team has asked residents to double check doors and windows are locked at night.
