POLICE swarmed Wantage town centre this morning, taping off parts of Mill Street and Market Place.
Concerned residents who passed by the area before 8am took to social media to warn others.
One Facebook user Andrew Barber posted on the Wantage & Grove community page: "Thames Valley Police have closed off Mill Street from town.

"Had to go on a detour to catch my bus though hopped on for 6am.
"Baracading and Police cars outside Greens & Co Estate Agents and the House of Spice."
Charles Martin, a night porter at The Bear Hotel, Market Place, confirmed that there were at least six officers and a van there in the morning.
He said: "I did not see what happened as I cannot leave the building but there were at least six police officers there.
"Now, a few of them are still in the area but from what I can see most have already left."
Thames Valley Police has been contacted for more information.
