PROTESTORS cycled around Oxford for an anti-Iraq war protest in September 2002.
The group - Critical Mass - cycled around the Plain roundabout at the bottom of Cowley Road once, before heading towards the city over Magdalen Bridge.
Protestors also held out signs to protest the then-looming war being proposed in the Middle East.
The pedalling protester pictured above also had an entourage of riders behind him.
Oxford was particularly vociferous in its opposition to the military action.
The following year on March 13, 2003, hundreds of schoolchildren joined a mass demonstration against the plans in Carfax.
Despite national outrage, the first phase of the invasion started six days later.
Seen as art of a 'war on terror' launched after the 9/11 attacks in New York, the Iraq war eventually led to the toppling of President Saddam Hussein, who was executed on December 30, 2006.
