TWO men were attacked in a vicious robbery which left one lying on the road unconsious with a broken nose.

Thames Valley Police has released CCTV images of five people officers would like to speak to following the assault in Wantage.

At around 12.40am on Saturday the pair, a man in his twenties and a man in his thirties, were walking along Mill Street when they were approached by a group of people.

The group demanded money and searched the pockets of one of the men before attacking both.

The first was knocked unconscious and left lying in the road with a head injury, broken nose and bruised ribs.

The other man sustained a broken bone in his hand, facial cuts and bruising.

They both needed hospital treatment but have since been discharged.

Nothing was taken during the incident.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Lara Necrews, based at Abingdon police station, said: “I am appealing to anyone who has any information about this incident to come forward.

“If you recognise the people in these images, or believe that one of them might be you, please get in touch.

“I am also appealing to any motorists who were driving along Mill Street around the time of the incident to check their dash-cam footage and to come forward if they have any information that could assist with the investigation.
