A COUNCIL-RUN scheme designed to help improve children’s physical and mental wellbeing has resumed in primary schools across Cherwell.
Almost 500 children have taken part in sports sessions over the last three weeks, which have been specially adapted to ensure social distancing.
Run by Cherwell District Council’s Youth Activators the activities will take place in five primary schools in the area.

These include Hill View and St Mary’s in Banbury, Sibford Gower Endowed Primary School, Christopher Rawlins in Adderbury and Bure Park Primary School in Bicester.
Before the coronavirus crisis the sessions were centred around team sports, however, they have now been altered to a circuit-style format, enabling children to take part in their own mini-bubble.
Cherwell councillor George Reynolds said: "It is great to see the Youth Activators are back in schools, inspiring youngsters to get moving and embedding healthy habits from an early age."
