A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a major crash in Abingdon.

Ryan Owen-Brewerton, of Appleford Drive, Abingdon, was also charged with drink-driving.

On Tuesday, four ambulances, police cars and an air ambulance raced to Ock Street at 9.30pm after reports of a serious crash between a man and two cars near Domino's.

The drivers of the red BMW and black Vauxhall were not injured but the man, in his twenties, was taken to the major trauma unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital – where he died yesterday.

Residents on Facebook said it was the fourth serious accident in 12 months on the popular street.

Owen-Brewerton has been released on bail and will appear at Oxford Crown Court on August 6.

The police investigator, Sergeant Darren Brown, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, urged anybody who saw something vital to get in touch.

Anybody who can help should call police on 101 quoting the reference 43200205698.
