A SPECIAL ceremony was held at the site of a new £15m hotel in Oxford.

The completion of the concrete frame installation was celebrated at the easyHotel in Summertown.

Paul Lancaster, director of 4Urban Consulting, placed the remaining concrete to the parapet on the top floor.

Work on the Banbury Road site began in May last year, with demolition work then following in July.

The hotel attracted plenty of interest and sparked much debate, with more than 400 objections coming in.

The 180-bedroom hotel aims to open next summer.
