AN Oxford solicitor won a slice of history in November 2001.
James Went was presented with the prize – a 1959 MK II Jaguar featured in the Inspector Morse TV films – by the Morse writer himself.
The late author Colin Dexter presented the prize at the iconic Magdalen College quad in the city.
Mr Went had won the vehicle through a Carlton Video promotion.
He didn't get to enjoy the prize there and then, however, having broken his arm playing rugby, and so it fell to his girlfriend to get behind the wheel and drive it home.
