AN ALIEN wedding took place in November 2011, as balloon modellers from across the globe came to Oxfordshire for a three-day competition.
The event took place at Heythrop Park near Chipping Norton, and attracted about 500 people who make their living from party balloons
Among the displays was the alien wedding as part of an extra-terrestrial sculpture by Svetlana Lugovaya’s team from Russia.
Spokesperson Rozane Barnard said: “Decorating venues with balloons is taking off in a major way in many countries and is a specialist skill.
“There were over 50 classes from the world’s best instructors, who shared their knowledge of running a profitable business.”
The event was organised by modelling balloon maker Pioneer Europe.
