FOR the first time since in almost a month a new coronavirus death has been reported at Oxfordshire’s hospitals.

In NHS England’s daily update today one fatality was recorded at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the John Radcliffe.

It takes the death toll to 178 and is the first increase since May 22.

There can be a delay in deaths being added to the official data.

It was one of a further 79 fatalities announced at England’s hospitals today.

As of 9am 298,136 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK.

The coronavirus death toll, measured as of 5pm on Monday, is 41,969.
