PERSONNEL from RAF Brize Norton have completed a two-week challenge to raise money for an Oxfordshire hospice.

Ten members of the Logistics Squadron Charities Committee set out to raise money for Helen & Douglas House on May 25.

The team initially aimed to collectively cover 1,407 km, the distance from Lands End to John O’Groats. In total, they surpassed that by managing 1,555 km and raised £941.

Event organiser, Corporal Rob Thomson, said: “I have to congratulate each member of the team for their efforts during this challenge, we are a group of mixed abilities, but everyone pushed themselves and we were able to smash the target.

“I am also astonished with the level of support people have shown us for this event and grateful for every donation we received.”
