A NEW police unit designed to grab some of the county’s most wanted criminals had a busy first weekend.
The Tactical Enforcement Unit has now been set up in West Sussex, and made arrests over the weekend.
Officers nicked a 27-year-old man on suspicion on suspicion of selling cocaine and cannabis in Bognor.
The teams also arrested a 28-year-old woman in the town who was wanted on recall to prison.
Then after a three-hour search they caught a wanted 32-year-old from Chichester, and arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of assault.
Finally, officers helped talk down a man standing on a bridge in the city from harming himself.

The unit is made up of eight PCs and a Police Sergeant, and there will soon be teams operating in West Sussex, East Sussex, and in Brighton and Hove.
Deputy Chief Constable Jo Shiner said the units are designed to create a “hostile environment” for dangerous and persistent criminals.

She wants them to be a deterrent to offenders, to break-up organised gangs, and to tackle violence. Since launching in December officers have made more than 100 arrests.
Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner said the expansion of the unit goes with extra cash from the Government to boost forces and said it is an example of how "smarter, tougher policing" works.
