A SPORTS, health and wellbeing business owner is running an ultra-marathon for mental health charity Oxfordshire Mind.
Ali Hollest, a 38-year-old, TriSwim Wellness business owner, is taking part in his own Snowdon 6 ways ultra-run for Oxfordshire Mind in September.
Mr Hollest said: “The Snowdon challenge comprises running the six major routes of the mountain, one after the other, up and down 78km, and over 5200m of ascent.
“I’m running one after the other with limited time between each leg, with an amazing support crew and some close buddies running a leg each too. This is going to be an epic adventure, particularly when running up the mountain through the night.”
Mr Hollest hopes to raise more than £6000 to help support the Oxfordshire mental health charity.
Leanne Merritt from Oxfordshire Mind said: “We are truly grateful to Ali for his incredible efforts and for choosing to fundraise for Oxfordshire Mind through his Snowdon 6 ways ultra-run. We know Ali is not alone in finding physical activity has a positive impact on both your physical and your mental health. Being physically active regularly can actually reduce the risk of depression by up to 30 percent, with outdoor exercise being particularly beneficial."
