A WOMAN accused of making up false allegations of rape, kidnapping and assault has been given a new date for her trial.

Anisah Ahmed previously appeared at Oxford Crown Court facing counts of conspiring to pervert the course of justice and doing acts intending to pervert the course of justice.

Prosecutors allege that between December 2013 and 2015 she made up allegations against a man including rape, kidnapping and causing grievous bodily harm.

At an earlier hearing held in October last year the 33-year-old of Wilkins Road, Oxford denied the charges against her and was given a date for trial.

That date - set for April 14 this year - was abandoned after the country went in to lockdown in March and new jury trials were put on hold.

Today, at the same court, presiding Judge Maria Lamb confirmed a new trial date for the case.

That trial is expected to take place at the same court on December 1 this year.

Ahmed remains on bail to await her trial.
