FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a blaze in one of the largest woods around Oxford started by a campfire or a disposable BBQ.
Crews from Abingdon and Rewley Road fire stations worked hard throughout yesterday morning to bring under control the deep-seated fire in Bagley Wood.

They used high pressure hose reels, fog spraying systems and beaters to extinguish the high flames and ensure that they did not spread any further.
Access to the area proved difficult, however, they were able to utilise vehicles from Wantage and Abingdon stations.
