While I can appreciate Chris Boswell's idea to put up coloured Christmas lights in Oxford for the believers in the Christian faith Oxford Mail, November 9), does he not read that the city council has a financial crisis with funding?
His own city councillor, Ed Turner, wrote about charging for toilet use (Oxford Mail, October 4).
Other letters and articles have highlighted the council's dire financial situation and that it cannot afford £9,000 to lock Florence Park overnight (Oxford Mail, November 6).
Believing Christians will have to continue lighting candles at chapel. I suggest Mr Boswell joins them.
