A MAN has been ordered to pay back £499.99 after using somebody else's bank card to buy himself an Xbox.

Donny Adrian Germaine Sam, of Cowley Road, appeared in the dock of Oxford Magistrates Court charged with fraud by false representation on February 20.

The maximum penalty for the charge is six months in prison and an unlimited fine, but in the documents the Magistrates Court noted that his change of heart had been taken into consideration when he was only made to pay back the money he spent in a compensation fee and £150 in court costs.

The 46-year-old had used Mr Barron's card on March 15 last year somewhere in Oxford.

Fraud by false representation is when a criminal is knowlingly dishonest or misleading to make some gain.
