A COLOURFUL flotilla of little paper boats has appeared on a bridge in Oxford to bring those passing by positive messages of hope during the coronavirus crisis.

The creative designs made by a group of concerned women can be spotted dangling with the wind on the railway towards Port Meadow in Jericho.

Oxford Mail:

One of the talented boat makers Anne Taylor explained that they wanted to focus people's attention towards the 'wonderful acts of kindness' during this pandemic and the 'power of community spirit'.

The Jericho resident added: "We should celebrate the community spirit and keep all the positive things coming out of this crisis, rather than 'return back to normal' and 'business as usual'."

Ms Taylor was helped by her daughter Alice and their friend Ines Smyth.

Ms Taylor added she had seen some wonderful response from people when she was out on her daily dog walks.

Many were spotted photographing the colourful boats and pausing their day to read the uplifting messages, with one woman bursting in tears.
