McDonald's has been given the go-ahead to reopen all drive-thru restaurants.

It has been widely reported that the high-street giant, known for its Big Mac's, will reopen to customers from Wednesday - when lockdown measures will be eased.

The restaurant closed its doors for the last time on March 23 and taking to social media said the decision had not been 'taken lightly'.

Since then the company's head announced plans to reopen 15 restaurants and restart the McDelivery service through Uber Eats with a reduced menu.

The McDonald's website still has a message to customers to say it is closed: “Sorry, we’re not open yet.

"We’re using this time to make sure that when we do reopen, we can keep everyone safe. When that time comes, these extra steps might mean things are a bit different, temporarily."
