IN WHAT has been described as the ‘biggest plot twist since Line of Duty’ this week First Date viewers watched as Oxford’s Blain became the centre of a complicated love quadrangle.

Thursday night’s episode of Channel 4's First Dates Hotel, filmed in Italy, left viewers in shock when two female guests ditched their dates for each other and one of them ended up with the other’s date.

Estate Agent Georgia, and Rachael, 28, revealed that they not only knew each other from social media, but that they also fancied each other.

However, they hadn’t been matched to go on a date together and instead Georgia had been paired with Robbie and Racheal with Blain Shepherd.

Speaking after their dates to the camera they both decided that they would prefer to see where things went with each other and at the end of the show an update from the ladies confirmed that they had been spending more time together.

However, another unexpected plot twist came in Mr Shepherd’s update when he revealed he had been dating Georgia – not his date, but Robbie’s.

But, what happened next?

Catching up with the tattooed trained chef, who works in client relationships at Hook Norton’s restaurant supply store Thomas Franks, he revealed that he is now single.

He said he had dated Georgia after the show, which was filmed more than a year ago, but that they decided to stay friends.

He said he had been texting her when it was airing, adding: “When you watched it, that the was the first time I had watched it too.

“The filming was for three days so your interviewed quite a lot and you don’t quite know how its going to play out.

“It’s so weird watching yourself on telly.”

The 30-year-old added: “I’m still single, I have dated since but it’s been one year since we filmed that – we went there last February.

“My date with Racheal was good, we just had a laugh.

“Italy was just incredible. It was such a beautiful hotel, really well looked after. When you arrive they take you out for a lunch and you meet other people there.”

He also said it was an amazing experience and that the likes of Fred Sirieix, who is the hotel’s frontman, really are lovely in real life too.

He said: “It’s a free holiday really – they give you 250 euros when you arrive and you buy your own food and things like that. It was incredible and just so beautiful.”
