This week’s Oxford Mail Camera Club is full of adorable snaps on the theme of ‘pets’.

We may be staying home, but this means we are spending more time with our animal companions – with plenty of time to take great pictures.

It is notoriously hard to take a good picture of your pet, but Camera Club members have sent in brilliant pictures of everything from cats and dogs to ducks and chickens.

Roger Neal’s cat seems to be hard at work from the comfort of home and it is even enjoying a coffee.

One curious cat is peering over the fence in Rhys John’s picture while Stormi the cat in Shez McKechnie’s snap is snuggling up in its blanket.

Andy Hayes has taken a snap of another little kitty enjoying a cuddle as his pet snuggles up for a spot of reading.

One more cute cat picture sent in was taken by Rho Rho photography. Rusty the cat seems to be as good at being a loving companion as he is at catching mice.

There are also pictures of some more unusual household pets, including one of Carlos the Rankin’s Dragon waiting for his breakfast in a snap taken by Lucy Roberts.

Birds Bobby and Daisy are caught checking themselves out in the mirror in a picture by Lesley Adams.

Ness Ling took a great snap of her dog sat with three tortoises. It looks to all the world like they are having a secret meeting.

Allen Dannfald took a great snap of his friend Bob posing for a picture with Lilly the pet duck on his shoulder.

Camera Club members have also taken lots of images of their dogs on long walks or just resting.

Storm the dog is looking forward to going on some more adventures after lockdown and Louisa Tucker has taken a picture of him enjoying a walk in the bluebells.

Sue Dickinson sent in a snap of her dogs enjoying run and Jim Jutton captured Bryn and Lottie fetching sticks from the Cherwell.
