HOUSEHOLDERS have been entertaining children and staying in touch with neighbours on lockdown, by putting on fancy dress to take their bins out.

The residents of Crafts End, Chilton, near Didcot, decided to make putting the bins out a bit more fun by getting dressed up for a synchronised wheelie bin push at 6pm on Mondays for the Tuesday refuse collection.

The fancy dress so far has included a Where’s Wally? theme by Sam, Emrys and Mia Birch, a Glastonbury 2020 Cancelled theme by Laura, Lucy and Linda McWhirter, Climbing Mount Everest with Karen, Samuel, Charlotte, Paul Beasley and Darling Buds of May with Jan and Kev Williams. There have also been astronauts, mermaids, Madonna and outfits for VE Day.

Linda McWhirter -Coy, from Crafts End, said people had enjoyed the challenge, adding: “We dress up as whatever we can come up with.

"It is nice we can all wave and say hello.”
