UPDATE: On May 12 Thames Valley Police said it concluded 'no offences took place' following its investigation into the incident

An image of a man has been released by police after a runner was attacked in Oxford.

Thames Valley Police said the man is someone officers 'would like to speak' to following the assault, which happened at around 4.30pm on Sunday, April 12.

A man in his twenties, was running down Old Road near to Girdlestone Road when a man pushed him and attempted to kick him.

The runner did not need hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Lee Dix, from the Smarter Resolution Team Oxford, said: “I am releasing this image as I believe that this man may have important information that could help with my investigation.
