STAFF at Hook Norton Brewery are preparing to deliver their beers for the Easter weekend and beyond.

The family-run brewery near Chipping Norton, which has been running since 1849, is keeping busy processing orders, despite pub closures enforced by the coronavirus lockdown.

It is renowned for delivering beer with its shire horses but they can only travel short distances from the brewery itself.

There is a click and collect service and customers can order online at hooky.co.uk/shop or call on 01608 730384.

They then choose the collection date and time and come to the brewery.

A spokesman said: “Follow the signs, down into the yard and your order will be waiting for you (Don’t be offended if we keep our distance or don’t come out).”

Online deliveries can also be made to customers’ addresses the following day for most Oxfordshire postcodes.

Director James Clarke said: “Our online sales and collection facilities have been busy, and we are able to operate these while fully complying with the social distancing; the shop is not open for browsing, all beer and wine needs to be pre-ordered.

“We will be closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

“The click and collect facility will not operate on these days, but it will operate on Saturday.”

Mr Clarke added: “The majority of staff had been placed on furlough leave, and we are running the business with a skeleton staff, and of those people, a third of them are working from home. We continue to brew beer for bottling.”
