A LOCAL football team has a message for the public - protect the NHS and save lives.

The Oxford Blackbirds United under 7s team has created this message.

Jade Walls, a secretary for the team, said: "The boys were missing putting on their kits and doing what they love - playing football and socialising with the rest of their team, which recently won the under 7s FA spring trophy event.

"The boys wanted to get creative whilst sending out an important message to show their support for the amazing NHS heroes by doing what they do best and working as a team to create this dedicated message.

"All of the parents and everyone involved is so proud of the teamwork regularly displayed by the boys and on this occasion too.

"They're an amazing bunch and are a big family.

"Hopefully we will soon be back doing what we love."
