DENBIGHSHIRE and Conwy joined the rest of the country once again in a round of applause for frontline staff.

From Glan Clwyd Hospital to North Wales Police, and homes across North Wales, residents clapped and banged on pots and pans to show their appreciation.

Lucie Williams, general manager of Denbighshire and Conwy's Home Instead Care, said: "I missed last week's clap, but hearing the claps and cheers this week, was absolutely amazing. This certainly has changed society at the moment

"I hope that the recognition of front line workers, emergency services, public services and all key players who are finally being recognised for the important role they are doing remains."

As frontline staff continue to work around and treat the patients in the pandemic over the coming weeks, Denbighshire Leisure has vowed to light the Rhyl Sky tower and Pavilion theatre in blue at 8pm every Thursday evening.

Dean of the Cathedral, the Very Reverend Nigel William, said: “The Cathedral isn’t far from Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan and many staff and other key workers will be passing by on the way to or from work. We wanted them to know, we’re supporting them and are grateful to them for all their work at this time.

“In addition, as a church community we’re praying daily for all those in health and social care work, for those in the NHS and those caring for people in residential homes and their own homes. As a society we are thankful for all those in key workers roles.”
