AS daily life is transformed by lockdown, one Bolton business is staying open to help serve the community.

Greenhalgh's shops have remained open, enabling people to avoid busier supermarkets.

The bakery has also established a new home delivery service to help those who are self-isolating and unable to do their own shopping.

David Smart, the managing director of Greenhalgh's, said: "We are offering deliveries to self-isolating, elderly, residents of retirement homes, sheltered housing, housebound, disabled and vulnerable customers, who contact us for help.

"We are pleased to say that since Monday 23 March we have been able to serve many vulnerable customers with home deliveries, this we have noticed is much need service to our community.

"In order to maintain and protect the safety, wellbeing of our customers and delivery colleagues, we leave the shopping in a safe place while maintaining the correct distancing for their collection.

"Payment is made remotely by card in advance and there is no personal contact.

"We are also working with Urban Outreach Bolton who daily collect fresh bread and cakes for the community.

"Please be assured that we are really doing our utmost to follow all Government and Regulatory bodies' guidance under these difficult circumstances."
