Tesco is introducing a special shopping hour this Sunday for its workers and NHS staff.

Tomorrow (Sunday), those eligible will be invited to browse an hour before traditional shop opening.

It's part of a range of measures the store has introduced to try and stop panic-buying and ensure there is enough food for everybody left on the shelves.

The supermarket has dedicated special one-hour slots for the elderly and vulnerable on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9am and 10am.

But an elderly resident in Abingdon, who went to her local branch, said she still did not manage to buy any food

Marks and Spencer is doing something similar. It is reserving the first hour of trade every day for NHS workers and the elderly.
