A MAN asked for a cigarette, and then a pound, before snatching a woman's bag.
A 57-year-old woman was walking along the Kingsway, Banbury towards the entrance of Leigh Grove when she was approached by the man.
The woman opened her bag to give him a pound and the man stole the bag from her arm and ran off in the direction of Beargarden Road.
Keys, cash and a passport were in the bag.
The offender is described as a white man, around 5ft 10ins tall, and slim.

He was wearing a black bomber jacket, blue wash denim jeans and white trainers.
Thames Valley Police has released an e-fit image of the man.
The incident took place at around 7.15pm on Friday, March 6.
Investigating officer PC Amy Boughton based at Banbury police station said: “I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident, or anyone who saw a man matching the e-fit and description in the area at the time to get in touch.
