A HOMEOWNER has had to ask for planning permission to repair major storm damage on his house.
Phillip Greenfield has said he needs to replace his entire roof 'due to structural failure and significant storm damage, loss of integrity and tiles'.
Writing to South Oxfordshire District Council, he said he wanted to put an entire new wooden roof structure on his home in Shillingford near Wallingford, but said he hoped to re-use all original tiles.

He even sent the council pictures of the damage done by the storm, though he did not specify whether it was one of the two most recent storms to hit the country.
He has had to ask for planning permission to carry out the works as the historic building is Grade II-listed.
